MEET THE DRAPER SMILES TEAM
MEET DR. FERNANDO PESSOA DDS
Meet Dr. Fernando Pessoa, DDS
Cosmetic Dentist in Draper, Utah
For Dr. Fernando Pessoa, exceptional cosmetic dentistry is about more than creating beautiful teeth. It's about designing smiles that look natural, complement each patient's facial features, function comfortably, and preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dr. Pessoa graduated with high honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2009. During dental school, he received recognition from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), and American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).
His commitment to continuing education led him to graduate from the Kois Center and pursue advanced training with respected clinicians, including Dr. John Kois and Dr. Pascal Magne.
Dr. Pessoa has also taught cosmetic dentistry and composite bonding techniques to other dentists, sharing his knowledge of dental artistry, materials, and natural-looking smile design.
At Draper Smiles, his work focuses on composite bonding veneers, porcelain veneers, cosmetic dental bonding, and comprehensive smile transformations. His approach combines artistic precision with biomimetic principles—seeking to replicate the appearance and function of natural teeth while avoiding unnecessary removal of healthy tooth structure whenever clinically appropriate.
Rather than approaching every smile with the same treatment, Dr. Pessoa carefully evaluates each patient's facial features, dental health, bite, and personal goals to develop an individualized plan.
Outside dentistry, Dr. Pessoa is a husband and father of four and a two-time national volleyball champion with Brigham Young University.
His philosophy is simple: A beautiful smile should look like it belongs to you.
