Family dentist Utah

Welcome to Draper Smiles—Utah’s favorite family dental practice! Kids love coming in to visit and you will too. We help children learn and understand the value of long-term oral health and get them started on the right path to a healthy and long-lasting smile. Our hygiene team loves kids and we welcome your entire family.

The kids can enjoy playing the Wii or brushing the Ed, the alligator, teeth. We know how to help kids feel relaxed and even engaged in their dental procedures and normal hygiene appointments. They can also watch their favorite show on Netflix while having their teeth cleaned. And examined. No need to panic and wonder if your children will be terrified of their dentist.

We love kids and they can feel that and come to enjoy visiting us too. Now your entire family can bring the whole gang and get the same high-quality dental care in the same place.

When you come in for your dentist visit at Draper Smiles, feel free to schedule your little one(s) to come along too. We look forward to your visit!

Preventative dentistry is the best dentistry. Regular checkups help ensure a lifetime of splendid oral health while early detection averts expensive major repairs.

Sadly, oral cancer is the sixth most common cancer with the worst five-year survival rate, but it is readily diagnosed through regular check-ups. Mom was right…An ounce of prevention really is worth a pound of cure.

Digital X-Rays

We use a technique called “digital radiography” which utilizes and electronic sensor (instead of X-ray film) to capture an electronic dental image. The imagery is available almost immediately and viewed on a nearby computer screen. One of the biggest benefits of this innovation is the substantial reduction in radiation exposure–up to 90% less, in comparison to traditional X-rays.

Root Canals

This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges.

At the center of your tooth is pulp. Pulp is a collection of blood vessels that helps to build the surrounding tooth. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.

If you experience any of these symptoms, your dentist will most likely recommend non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp. This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed.

This therapy usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required. Success for this type of treatment occurs in about 90% of cases. If your tooth is not amenable to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, you will be informed at the time of consultation or when a complication becomes evident during or after treatment.

Intraoral Camera

With the use of a miniature camera that captures color images inside your mouth, you will see on an overhead monitor exactly what we are doing during an office visit. By being able to view the problems in your mouth, you can be more aware and involved in your treatment plan.

Soft-Tissue Laser Dentistry

With the use of laser technology, it’s now easy to provide far more thorough dental care with greater comfort and precision. You can look forward to pleasant dental experiences at Draper smiles by spending less time in the chair and avoiding the typical surgical after effects, such as bleeding and discomfort associated with inflammation.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

While few people are able to leave their wisdom teeth untouched, many people find that their wisdom teeth grow in sideways, only partly emerge, or are trapped beneath the gums or bone. Wisdom teeth that are misaligned or cannot fit in a small jaw can cause infections and create cavities on adjacent teeth. To find out whether you need wisdom teeth extraction, call our office or click to request an appointment to schedule a consultation. If you feel concerned about pain or the wisdom teeth extraction process, we offer IV sedation dentistry for increased relaxation and comfort.
